Hip wise I feel the best I have felt in 4 years... I celebrated by doing one of my old *longer* running routes today. It was the longest run I have
done probably in that entire 4 year period! I couldn't quite make it the whole way, so alternated running and walking at the end. I was running for 77 mins
in total with another 10 mins of walking mixed in.
this is all such great news! yay!! good for you, g! hope your trip was a success!

Thanks guys!
I am back from my trip - it was busy but successful. Only problem was, I was constipated and EXTREMELY bloated. The pants I took with me were too tight! A few days after I had my good run, of course I had to go and trip and fall again! Luckily it was not as bad as the last one, and other than a few scrapes, I think I am OK. It just turned VERY hot here and we are all wilting! The little racs are enjoying their pool. They were joined by a little skunk the other night! I will send Wred a pic to post. A black cat has been hanging around too.

Welcome back G
If you want to be able to post your own pics I can tell you how... I TOTALLY don't mind doing it but it might be easier for you. Got to http://photobucket.com/ and open an account; there will be a window to upload files the same way you would do into an email; make em fairly small, though when I get yours from you they're usually a pretty good size already; then in a reply window here just click on the icon next to the smiley face (for emotis) at the top that says "Insert image from photobucket." And voila! your pics will appear and you can just click on them. If you struggle, send them to me no problem. Cant wait to see them playing!! I hope you really are ok after your fall. What did you land on? ![]()

Thanks you guys!
I did a 10K race this morning. My time was a little slow, but it was pretty hot out. I got 3rd place in my age group, which I am pleased with because it was a competitive race that brings out the best local runners (there is even prize money for the winners!). So I guess I am OK after the fall. It was onto pavement (a sidewalk). I still have scabs... but evidently no structural damage!

Wicked news on the race G!
There is a saying about "third being a charm" is there not? I bet being in shape had something to do with why you didn't get injured after falling. Hope you're doing well!

Everything OK here. We are having a hot spell (30C). The racs are enjoying their pool. My digestive system is functioning better. I am amazed at how my level of happiness often boils down to whether I am tired and whether my digestive system is working OK.

i have to find that website again, the one in which it gives temps in C ad F. i am only used to F. even tho i know it's not, 30C sounds cold!

30C is 86F...
Next race is Aug. 16th... Have found an excellent fiber product called NutraCleanse - you take 1/3 cup per day (you can mix it with anything - yogurt, cereal, smoothies etc.) and I have found it really helps the digestive function. It's not a laxative, it just "normalizes" everything. My stomach is still distended, but I am sure this product is helping. (Yes Wred, I am going to try your drink again!) Exercise is good, work is busy. Had a

Good news on all fronts there G!
i hear ya with tummy distenstion! Grrrr.......but it passes, right? You are such a runner! I admire your committment. You treat your body well, which I'm sure has something to do with all your recovery and strong sense of self eestem. You make me want to run. Hope your week is going well!

Whew! It is hot here. (too hot to run!) Good news - I had a good day at work today - I MC'd a full day meeting that involved about 70 people, and it went
really well. When I am "on my game" I can be quite funny, and I was today. But the good news part is that I was so "into" what I was doing
I sort of forgot to eat - well I ate lunch but there was none of the "boredom snacking" I usually do during the day. Made me think... Also the bloat
went away. Weird. Maybe my system is telling me it wants me to do something else with my life...
C, are you able to swim?

yay you for
i'm wondering.. are your snacks salty? pretty sure you know that the quickest way to acquire bloat is to have too much salt.

I usually eat some version of granola bar or protein bar for snacks - they are more sweet than salty. I have just started making my own - it's easy,
healthier and cheaper!

In a weird twist of fate, I saw him again this morning. Very odd because I got to work at 9 a.m. yesterday and 7:30 a.m. today - and so did he. Today was easier. I realized he does not make me feel good. We have a good weather forecast for the weekend, so it is going to consist of exercise, shopping, and reading on my deckchair!

I think fate is testing the stuff you wrote on the lyrics thread G. Hold onto how not good he makes you feel. Mys came up with a great analogy - it's like
a sore tooth that would be fine except you can't help pressing it with your tongue and making it freaking hurt. I wish you could yank that sucker out of
your life G, I really do.
Anyway I hope you had an awesome weekend. Mine was spend making I'm-sick-and-dying agony noises in my bed. Heh. Wooo. ![]()

Aww! Hope you were feeling better in time to start the new job.
I had a spectacular weekend (we had a long weekend here) - the weather was unbelievably perfect. I managed to get in a lot of exercise of various types, lots of R&R (reading in the sun) and some shopping. The highlight, I think, was going to a spot called Spanish Banks at low tide and running barefoot on hard packed sand at the ocean's edge. Heaven! I have stopped carrying my Blackberry with me on weekends so I can't check for messages. (There weren't any.)
