Thanks you guys!!
Mys (and everyone) - please feel free to tell me what you are thinking - it is so much easier to "solve" other people's problems because we see them so much more objectively. I appreciate and take seriously every piece of advice you guys give me. Don't worry about being harsh or blunt - it is VERY hard to offend me, plus I know you are all well intentioned and only want what is best (so even if it was iffy, I would give you the benefit of the doubt!). love you all!

Hey G,
The past weekend was a long one here too. Yours sounded amazing! How beautiful it would be to run on the beach at low tide. I want to go to B.C.! Sorry about the little I'm glad you trust our input. We trust you too. I hope your weekend is another great one! Love.

that's good to know, g, so i have mentally filed it. anyhoo, i agree about problem-'solving' - i have always felt the same. when we are emotional about and/or too close to the issue at hand, it can be mind-numbingly confusing.... ok, ok, so maybe that's me. thanks g. next time i have an epiphany moment, i'll be sure to share.

thanks Mys!
If you are ever concerned about something you have posted (to me or anyone else for that matter), feel free to PM me and I can give you my thoughts. Or if you have doubts about whether or not to post something, you can run it by me before you do. I have a pretty good sense (I think) of what is and isn't offensive.

Hey don't worry you guys - I tend to post more when things are NOT good, so no news is usually good news... but thanks for asking!
Here's an update: No sign of Running was going great till I pulled a muscle in my hip 2 weeks ago - again, two steps forward, one step back (sigh). Eating is OK, I'm eating healthy and not bingeing, and the NutraCleanse fiber supplement is working wonders with my digestion. However, despite all my efforts, I have not lost weight. I have to conclude that the extra x lbs are caused by menopause. I am now calling them my "menopounds" and looking forward to the day when menopause ends - because I'm assuming that's when they'll come off. Still have the abdominal distension, and have concluded that is a sign of stress/not enough sleep or relaxation/not looking after myself. This is a constant struggle for me. Work and home are busy, and it is hard to carve myself out any "down time". Things with DH are OK - he's still drinking, but not to a problem level. .. and that's me... Thanks for caring!

mentally filed for future reference. I really think this relationship is done, bearing in mind that you've said to be honest and not hold back...i think this relationship has been over for a very, very long time. I can see tiny signs of progress though, like not sending him messages and not checking for messages all the time. that is HUGE progress, g, Running was going great till I pulled a muscle in my hip 2 weeks ago oh no!! i am soooo sorry, g. how are you doing now? I have to conclude that the extra x lbs are caused by menopause. I am now calling them my "menopounds" and looking forward to the day when menopause ends - because I'm assuming that's when they'll come off. being in perimenopause is a horrendously difficult time for many women, especially when it comes to weight issues. unfortunately, when you are in full menopause, defined as when your periods have ceased continuously for one year, um...it doesn't get any easier, sorry to say. metabolism has already begun to slow down, so of course extra vigilence is necessary to limit excess calories. however, despite all we do to fight it, some belly pooch is almost inevitable, even if one is reed thin. weight distribution changes, which is why you've probably noticed that many thin middle-aged women develop thicker waists and a slight tummy bulge. i don't know if it even can be dieted or exercised away..?? i think it's just part of the normal aging process. so it seems this would be the time for acceptance.. that how one looked at 20 isn't any longer possible, which i believe would spare middle-agers a lot of heartache. he's still drinking, but not to a problem level. great news!

Hi Mys!
This made me laugh (which probably wasn't what you expected!): "bearing in mind that you've said to be honest and not hold back...i think this relationship has been over for a very, very long time." This made me sad (because you are probably right!): "some belly pooch is almost inevitable, even if one is reed thin. weight distribution changes, which is why you've probably noticed that many thin middle-aged women develop thicker waists and a slight tummy bulge. i don't know if it even can be dieted or exercised away..?? i think it's just part of the normal aging process. so it seems this would be the time for acceptance.. that how one looked at 20 isn't any longer possible" Because that's exactly where my menopounds are sitting - on the belly - I have a little "beer gut" (even tho I don't drink beer - that's what it looks like) that turns into "muffin top" when the ol waistband is a bit tight... well - maybe I just have to get to the acceptance part....

Thanks Wred! At least if I figure it out - you will be able to benefit from my experience!
Forgot to answer your question about the hip Mys. Yeah, I think it'll be OK - just a pulled muscle, but of course I keep trying to run, which is just delaying the recovery. So this weekend it was just gym and swimming - no running. And I go to my massage therapist on Thurs. I will be back on track
soon!
to all
